Department of Custom Administration
General Information
- History: Customs Management Department and Department was established in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880, with the decision taken at the Higher Education General Assembly Meeting dated 30.10.2018. It started undergraduate education from the 2019-2020 academic year. It was established as a School affiliated to Iğdır University in accordance with the decision taken at the Higher Education General Assembly Meeting of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education dated 20.02.2014; It became the Faculty of Applied Sciences with the Presidential Decree dated 03.03.2022 and numbered 5252.
- Department and Program Outcomes: The aim of the Department of Customs Management is to contribute to the foreign trade of the country by meeting the deficit of expert personnel to work in the field of customs and trade. The Department of Customs Management ensures that its students enter the business life with a great advantage after graduation by applying the 7 + 1 (seven semesters of lectures, one semester of vocational education in the enterprise) education model. The academic staff of the department develops collaborations in order to support the vocational training processes of the students in the enterprise and to guide the students effectively. Collaborations with representatives with experience in the public and private sectors are continuously tried to be increased.
- Language / Type of Education: The Department of Organic Agriculture Management offers formal education in Turkish. Our programme aims to provide bilingual education opportunities for international students by providing English content in certain courses. In addition, with the support of modern technologies, we continue to develop the infrastructure that can be integrated into distance education systems.

Double Major / Minor Programs
Double Major Programs:
A senate decision has been taken to open Double Major Programmes (DMP) for the students of our university. Students with a grade point average of 70 out of 100 will be able to apply for double major programmes. In the Double Major (DMP) programme, students with a grade point average of 70 and above can take the courses of a department other than their own department simultaneously with the courses they are taking and if they successfully complete these courses, it is a programme that enables them to have a double undergraduate diploma when they graduate.
Students of our department can double major in Economics, Business Administration, Local Governments, Political Science and International Relations, Political Science and Public Administration departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

Minor Programs:
A senate decision has been taken to open minor programmes for the students of our university. Students with a grade point average of 70 out of 100 will be able to apply for Minor programmes. A minor is a system that allows students enrolled in an undergraduate programme to take some courses of another department in their university simultaneously and receive a minor certificate after successfully completing them.
Students of our department can minor in Banking and Insurance, Foreign Trade, Accounting and Tax Applications, Finance departments of Igdir Vocational School.

Exchange Programs
It offers students the opportunity to study at another university, either domestically or abroad, for a certain period of time. Thanks to these programs, students have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, develop their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. Career
Aims and Objectives of the Department / Program: The Department of Organic Agriculture Management aims to provide its students with the necessary knowledge and skills in the fields of Customs Consultancy, Customs Expertise, Foreign Trade Expertise, Logistics and Business Administration, and to enable them to become experts who will make a difference in professional life. Our education programme aims to raise individuals equipped with sustainable business management skills by blending theoretical knowledge with practice. In addition to gaining in-depth knowledge on issues related to customs legislation, our students are also subjected to intensive training in foreign trade, logistics, maritime and port management, accounting and marketing, and are aimed to specialise with a versatile and holistic approach.
Current Status and Future of the Department / Program: The Department of Customs Management is a department that is taught in a limited number of universities in our country. Equivalence to FEAS has been accepted by the Council of Higher Education. In addition to the courses in the FEAS curriculum, the courses related to customs legislation make our students stand out.
Occupations in the Field: There is a wide range of careers for graduates of the Customs Business Administration department. Among the professions that can be practised:
- Consultancy services in the field of customs practices for domestic and foreign companies exporting to foreign markets and importing to domestic markets
- Customs Brokerage
- Logistics companies
- Ministry of Trade (specialist and civil servant)
- Ports
are some of the working areas.
